Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus users recently faced camera issues, particularly complaints about blurriness during close-up shots. After several months of user complaints, Samsung acknowledged the problem and announced that it would release an update for the camera application.
Samsung Galaxy S23 camera update is on the way
In a community post shared by Samsung Poland, camera issues in the S23 lineup were addressed. The tech giant stated that it believed a software update would solve the problem for Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus.
Samsung also shared a few details about the cause of the camera blurriness. According to their statement, the wide-angle sensor in the S23 lineup has a lens aperture designed for low light. While this sensor assists in capturing photos in dark conditions, it also attempts to achieve a noticeable focus, which results in a blurred background.
Acknowledging the camera blurriness issue, Samsung reported that it was working on an update for the Galaxy S23 and S23+; however, it should be noted that this announcement was not made from a global account and no specific date was provided.
Samsung shared some tips for users to temporarily mitigate the problem. Firstly, they advised users not to take photos of objects closer than 30 cm. Additionally, the company recommended holding the phone vertically while taking photos.
Furthermore, Samsung mentioned that the camera application was running slower than intended and introduced a new feature. The Quick Shutter Tap update introduced to the Camera Assistant will enable faster shooting.
